Have I got a treat for you! Today I am sharing a step-by-step tutorial of my demo that I did for the Scrap-Mart booth at the Scrapbook Expo using the new Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists, The Crafter's Workshop Stencils, and Spellbinders Dies.
Before we get started, let me tell you a lytle bit about Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists and their different formulations. There are three different formulations: Starburst Mists, Moon Shadow Mists, and Glitz Spritz. Starburst Mists have a highly pigmented dye ink base with colored mica. Moon Shadow Mists have a walnut ink base with colored mica. And Glitz Spritz have a clear base and only contains colored mica.
Ok, ok. So you're probably thinking, "What's so great about these sprays? I have a whole drawer full of other sprays I have been collecting." First of all, the colors are so rich and vibrant and the shimmer is two-toned, making it super sparkly. Secondly, the colors blend very nicely, yet they hold their own color and do not bleed and become muddy, as you will see in my tutorial. Third, you can shake these puppies as much as you want and they won't clog. I spent two full days in the booth demo-ing with these lytle guys and not a single one clogged. And lastly, the cost can't be beat! They retail for about $4.50 a bottle, but at Scrap-Mart you can pick them up here for $3.99!
Another thing you should know about these sprays is that they come in a powder form that will need to be mixed with water the first time you use it. Simply fill the bottle half way with hot water, stir with a stick, and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. The formula contains a binder in it that needs to be completely dissolved. After the 10 minutes, fill the rest of the bottle with hot water, shake it up, and you're ready to spray. Once they are mixed, they are good to go until you run out.
So let's get on with this tutorial, will ya!

Supplies: Non-Stick Craft Mat, #5 Shipping Tags, Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays and Moon Shadow Sprays, Heat Gun, The Crafter's Workshop Stencils, Tim Holtz French Ledger Stamp, Black Archival Ink Pad, Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad, Ink Blending Tool with Foam, Heavy Mulberry Paper, Spellbinders Grand Peony Creations Die Set, Your Favorite Die Cutting Machine, Mini White Paper Roses, Scissors, Imaginisce Petal Roller, Empty Brad Packaging, Helmar's 450 Quick Dry, White Seam Binding.

Step 1: Randomly spray the shipping tag with Cotton Candy Pink, Passionate Plum, and Love at First Sight Lavendar Starburst Mists and dry with a heat gun.

Step 2: Place a Crafter's Workshop stencil over the tag and spray with Bucket o' Blood Red Moon Shadow mist. Remove the stencil and dry the tag with a heat gun.

Step 3: Stamp the tag with Tim Holtz French Ledger stamp and Black Archival Ink.

Step 4: Distress the edges of the tag using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and an ink blending tool with foam.

Step 5: Using the Spellbinders Grand Peony Creations die set and your favorite die-cutting machine, cut out the three smallest flowers in the set using heavy mulberry paper. I found my paper at my local art supply store. You will also need to gather one small white paper rose.

Step 6: Spray all the mulberry flowers and the small rose with Amaryllis Burgundy Starburst Mist and dry with a heat gun.

Step 7: Trim the wire off of the paper rose. Flip the mulberry flowers over and curl all the petals up as shown using the Imaginsce Petal Roller. (You could also use a paper piercer).

Step 8: Place the mulberry flowers right side up on an empty brad packaging (or a foamy mouse pad) and using the ball tip of the stylus, roll over the center of each flower in a circular motion and watch as the petals start to curl up.

Step 9: Layer and glue all the flowers together with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry (or your favorite strong wet adhesive).

Step 10: Lightly spray the flower with blank Moon Shadow mist and dry with a heat gun. (This makes the flower look a lytle distressed, as if you took the time to ink all the edges).

Step 11: Adhere the flower to the tag using Helmar's 450 Quick Dry.

Step 12: Gather two 12" pieces of white seam binding. Spray the seam binding with Amaryllis Burgundy Starburst Mist and accent with Bucket o' Blood Red Moon Shadow Mist and dry with a heat gun.

Step 13: Feed one piece of the seam binding through the top of the tag and tie a bow. Then feed the second piece through the tag and tie another bow over the first one to create a double bow. Adjust and fluff the bows as desired, and trim the tails of the bows as needed.

Here is another color combination for you...

Here I used Grab a Guy Gold, Tainted Love Teal, and My Mojito Green Starburst Mists for the tag; Yellow Rose of Texas Starburst Mist for the flower; and Tibetan Poppy Teal for the seam binding; and Bucaneer Bay Blue Moon Shadow Mist for all "moon shadow accenting".
